(Jack)

Jacob (Jack) Froese was transported to his heavenly home on May 11, 2010 from the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 84 years. Jack’s faith in God was always evident in his life.

Born in Schoeneberg, Russia on June 24, 1925, Jack came to Canada with his parents Jacob and Margaret Froese at the age of 11 months, settling in Fusilier, Sask. for 10 years. After difficult farming years they came to the lush green of the Fraser Valley, settling in Greendale. Over the years, Jack lived in Delta, Chilliwack and Agassiz.

In 1946 Jack married Bette Jaffray. They had three children: Peggy, Linda and Jack. A second marriage in 1970 to Helen McKinlay with daughters Deborah and Connie made for a happily blended family.

Jack had diverse occupations including construction and trucking, with his last employer being the Transport Division of D.N.D. Chilliwack.

After retirement Jack and Helen enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with family and friends.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Helen and children Linda (Stewart) Turbett, Deborah (Vern) Peters, Connie (Art) Pierrot, 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, siblings Helen Bergen, Abe(Irene), John (Ilse), Rita (Dave) Klassen and Peter (Ronnie).

Sadly predeceased by son Jack (1975); daughter Peggy and husband Tom Gallop (1992); father Jacob (1963) and mother Margaret (1978).
