It is with great sadness, we announce the loss of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and Opa Piet.
Dad was predeceased in 1997 by his wife of over 60 years, Maartje; and son-in-law Andrew Stam.
He is survived by his 10 children, Rudy (Sharon), Jackie Stam, Jake (Bev), Jan (Bert) Stam, Marsha (Dave) DeBruin, Cathy (Gerrit) van Klei, Fran (Bob) Evaniuk, John (Sandi), Trudy (George) Isaak, and Dina (John) Neels. He also leaves 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He also is survived by three sisters in Holland.
Dad was born in Ede, the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his wife and eight children. Two more were born in Canada. He and mom farmed most of their lives on Banford Rd. and for the past couple of years Dad made his home at Valley Haven.
A private family memorial was held at Woodlawn on Tuesday, May 13, 2003.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.
