Jacob Adrian Blankers passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Chilliwack, BC at age 88 years. He was born May 9, 1920 in Meevwen, Netherlands.
Jacob is survived by his loving wife Johanna; daughters Gerda (Len) Kooyman and Ada (Bill) Maljaars; 18 grandchildren and their spouses; 61 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Joke Van Mersbergen, in 1970, and his daughter Wilma in 1956.
A viewing for family and friends was held on May 2, 2009 from 7:30 – 8:30 at the Bethel Church Hall. A Funeral Service was held on May 4, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 8920 – 1 Broadway Street, Chilliwack, BC. Pallbearers were Ken Kooyman, Jeff Kooyman, John Kooyman, Jim Maljaars, Jack Maljaars, and John Maljaars. Interment took place at Chilliwack Cemetery on Little Mountain.
