Jack Harvey Mash passed away peacefully on November 13, 2009 at Cascade Hospice Centre at the age of 86 years.

Jack was born in Hamilton, New Zealand and came to Canada at the age of nine with his parents Benjamin and Anne; brother, Lenard; sister, Jean and later, sister, Constance, who was born in Canada.

He joined the Air Force in 1940 until 1945. His home at that time was Edmonton. He met his loving wife during this time and they married in 1944. After the war, Jack and June settled in Vancouver where Jack went to work at a dairy and then on to McGavin’s Bakery as a salesman. He ended his career as a maintenance man for the Surrey School District. Following retirement, Jack and June movd to Chilliwack to be closer to their family. He enjoyed his family very much, and loved spending time on his home, gardens and with friends.

Jack will be lovingly remembered by June, his wife of 65 years; his daughter, Cheryl

(Bill) Polukoshko; son, Brent (Gayle) (nee Cowie); grandchildren, Kimberlee, Cheri, Jenny, Ryan and Joel; great-grandchildren, Whitney, Ceydie, Jack, Olivia and Avery; brother, Lenard (Marjory) Mash; sister, Jean (Ralph) Vandenberg and brother-in-law, Bob Sommers. He was sadly predeceased by his sister Constance Sommers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 2, 2009 at 10:30 am from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack, Reverend Willem Van de Wall officiant.
