Isaac David Thiessen passed away peacefully at Heritage Village into the presence of his Lord with his family at his side, on December 2, 2006 following a lengthy illness. He was born December 17, 1928 in Pangman, SK to David & Margareta Thiessen.
Survived by Susan, his wife of 52 years, daughter, Lois (Roger) Hiebert of Abbotsford, grandchildren Ryan & Kiri Hiebert and great granddaughter, Addison, of Calgary, AB, Regan Hiebert & Lisa Hiebert of Abbotsford, son, Ernie (Janette) Thiessen of Chilliwack, grandchildren, Trenton & Theresa, daughter, Brenda (Gord) Klassen of Cloverdale, granddaughters, Sharayah & Nikola, daughter, Lorraine (Rob) Holman of Delta, grandchildren Cassandra & Jeremy.
He is also survived by his brother Dave (Christina) Thiessen of Kelowna, BC, brother John (Aggie) Thiessen of Brandon, MB, brother Jake (Mary) Thiessen of Swift Current, SK, brother-in-law Peter (Lena) Janzen of Killarney, MB, brother Henry (Leona) Thiessen of Morden, MB, sister Marg (Frank) Peters of Killarney, MB, brother-in-law Eric Fast of Rivers, MB, brother George Thiessen of Brandon, MB, many cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.
Ike was predeceased by his father, David Thiessen in 1986, his mother, Margareta in 1998, three sisters, Helen, Mary & Tina and one brother, Peter.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Eden Rest Home and Heritage Village for their concern and care during his stay at each facility.
On December 9, 2006 viewing will be from 10-11a.m. at Eden Mennonite Church, 46551 Chilliwack Central Road, Chilliwack, BC followed by burial at Chilliwack Cemeteries and a Memorial Service at Eden Mennonite at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated.
