Iris Cheek passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the age of 82. She was born January 16, 1927 in Strongfield, Saskatchewan.
Iris will be sadly missed by her daughter Heather Innes (Gail), brothers Don (Fran), Bob (Agnes), stepdaughters, Joyce (Lloyd), Nancy (Ed) stepson Stan (Adele) and sister-in-law Eileen Hewitt. Iris will also be missed by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and good friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Edward (Ted) Innes, second husband Cliff Cheek, son Randy Innes, brother Barry Mitchell, sister-in-law Fran Mitchell and stepson Kevin Cheek.
Iris was a long time Chilliwack resident. She was happiest when busy - whether it be gardening, knitting, reading, bowling, camping and fishing. Iris really enjoyed her fishing trips to Loon Lake and Lac La Hache and bus trips to Reno.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 7th, at 2:00 PM at the Promontory Lake Estates Clubhouse, 6001 Promontory Rd., Sardis, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
