Ireen COLLINS, (nee Ross)

On Monday, September 4th, 2006, Mrs. Ireen Collins (nee Ross) passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 68.

Ireen was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and volunteer – she will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother, Helen M. Ross, of Chilliwack, two daughters: Rebecca Laurie Collins (Erik) of Terrace, B.C. and Seanna Collins Badowich (David) of Edmonton, AB; four brothers: Tom Ross (Roberta), Doug Ross, George Ross (Anne) and Desmond Ross (Phyllis) plus numerous nieces, nephews and great friends. Ireen was predeceased by her father, George Ross and brother Jack Ross and his wife, Marie.

Ireen was a graduate of the 1956 class of Chilliwack High School, a 15 year member of the Chilliwack Hospital Service League and a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in both Calgary and Chilliwack.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Noble and the wonderful nurses and staff in the Palliative Care Unit at the Chilliwack General Hospital for the tremendous kindness, respect and care Ireen received over the last few months. A very heartfelt thank you to her very special friends, May and Jack Allen and Kay Penner for their on-going love, caring, support and friendship to our Mom and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home.

Should family and friends so desire, Ireen has asked that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Chilliwack Volun–teer Driver Program.
