Ida SEIBEL

August 11, 2007

Ida Seibel, our mother & grandmother, was suddenly called to her heavenly home on August 11, 2007. Ida was born at her parent’s home in Birmingham, Saskatchewan, on April 20, 1914.

Ida Seibel (nee Senft) married Alfred Seibel in 1942. They were married for 55 years. Their early years were spent in Hodgeville, Saskatchewan where they raised their two children and Dad was Co-op Store Manager. Mom worked part-time in the store with him. Mom was also active in their little country church, teaching Sunday School & playing piano, and also looking after their home and children.

In 1973, the Seibels moved to Chilliwack. Mom was a devoted grandmother and a wonderful partner to her husband. They enjoyed their retirement years together until Dad’s passing in 1997. Even though Mom was very lonely for Dad, she was determined to enjoy her life. She especially enjoyed her last 3 years at the Birchwood Retirement Residence. She loved her tiny suite, the friendly staff & great food. Mom was a wonderful mother to her two children, Larry & Doreen Seibel and Fred & Darlene McNair, grandchildren, Dove & Scott McLaren, Dean & Andrea Seibel, great-grandchildren Elainea, Jonathan, Charissa, Ryan, Jarett, Aaron & Justin.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Avenue, Chillliwack, B.C. with Pastor Dan Goldsmith, officiating.

In memory, donations may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators, 4316 – 10 St NE, Calgary, AB T2E 6K3.
