A soldier died today…

Howard Millard Gorden, born March 30, 1943, died August 16, 2008.

Survived by his loving wife of over 45 years; Karen (nee Hendley); sons: Paul (Alison) and Bryan (Lorraine B); and grandchildren: Sydney, Talon, Kurtis, Kayden and Matthew. Howard is also remembered by many numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends and colleagues.

Howard was born to Selmer and Anna Gorden in Bella Coola, BC. In 1961, he enlisted in the Military as an Engineer. He and Karen were married in February of 1963. He served his country with great honour and pride and was committed and loyal all of his days.

Due to declining health, Dad retired in 2005. Howard was a fiercely loyal, dedicated and loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. We will remember his sense of humour, kindness and willingness to lend a hand. His values, morals, spirit and love will forever live on.

Come and celebrate Howard’s life, Monday August 25, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 280 in Vedder, BC Tea and refreshments to follow
