Hilda passed away in the Chilliwack Hospital on April 19, 2004 at the age of 73 years. She was born December 15, 1930 at home in Tompkins, Sask., daughter of Jonathon and Barbara Friesen.
Loving and devoted wife of 54 years to Gordon, and mother and grandmother to Ivy ((Bruce) Bolton, Arlana, Cory, Tristan and Kaitlyn Herle; Alisa, Derek and Brandon Walton; Jennifer (Gerald), Derek, Erin, Brett, Kristie, Dawson and Brooklynne Burgess; Randy (Pam), Kelsey and Ashley White; Joy (Jon), Kristine, Scott and Karla Kelly.
Hilda is also survived by her sisters Sina Bergen, Hannah Berg, Linda Epp, Elma (David) Shaw and sister-in-law Agnes Friesen; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother, Nickolas.
A courageous battle was fought and Mom will forever be lovingly remembered as a precious wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all the Palliative Care Nurses for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Hilda’s life will be held on Friday, April 23, 2004 at the Chilliwack United Church at 2 p.m. Reverend Doug Ireland officiating.
Memorial donations in Hilda’s name can be made to the Chilliwack Hospice Society or the Chilliwack United Church, if so desired.
