Henry NEUFELDT

September 1, 2007

Henry Neufeldt passed away peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital on Sept. 1, 2007, surrounded by his family and friends.

Henry was born in Gerald, SK on June 29, 1927 and was one of 14 children. His family moved to the Fraser Valley when he was a young boy and this is where he spent his entire life.

Henry “Seegan” played ball as a young man and was known as one of the best baseball catchers in the league. He fished the many rivers from here to Bella Coola with his sons and friends.

Henry married the love of his live, Mary Boldt, and they shared a beautiful life together until Mary passed away in 1999. They were blessed with a family and spent many years welcoming friends and family into their “numerous” homes.

During his retirement years Henry and Mary vacationed in Hawaii with their treasured friends, went on several cruises and made annual fishing trips to Loon Lake.

Henry worked at Funks Grocery store as a meat cutter until 1969 when he became a partner in Fraser Valley Meats which he managed until the business was sold in 1990. He was a well-respected businessman and employer and valued his customers and employees.

His parents, Anna and Jackob, and his stepmother, Mary, predeceased Henry, as well two brothers, Herb and Jack. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons: Gary (Bev), Rick and Jim; as well as grandchildren: Steve, Scott (Paula), Brad (Amanda), and Lisa; and great-grandchildren: Meaghan, Michelle, Mary, Kara, Mason and Brandon.

“Gentleman” is the word that best describes Henry. He loved unconditionally and gave generously to all and never an unkind word have we heard. Henry was humbly proud of his accomplishments but his greatest love was for his family. His faith remained steadfast throughout his life and sustained him through his trials and tribulations.

He will be greatly missed but we feel blessed in this life “we were loved by Henry.”
