Henry Frank KNAPP

Frank Knapp passed away very peacefully on Monday October 17, 2005 at Hawthorne Care Facility in Port Coquitlam, BC. Frank was a resident there for there for the past 4 months.

Frank was born on Jan. 14th, 1929 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. He married his beloved wife Patricia on August 26, 1950 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Sadly but not forgotten Patricia predeceased Frank on September 15, 1998.

Frank has one older brother, Ernie Knapp and his wife Glady’s, who reside in Port Coquitlam, BC.

Frank and Pat Knapp are survived by their three children. Marlene Naunheimer and her husband Joe of Airdrie Alberta. Their son Ron Knapp and his wife Holly of Chilliwack, BC; and their youngest son Ray Knapp of Airdrie, Alberta.

Frank and Pat are also survived by four grandaughters Shelly Gieselman and her husband Kurt of Chilliwack, BC. Pamela Thompson and her husband Jamie of Kingston, Ontario. Tiffany Knapp and her boyfriend Ryan Brett of Chilliwack, BC and Courtney Knapp of Nanaimo BC.

Frank and Pat are also survived by one grandson born 16 months ago to Ron & Holly Knapp. His name is Austin Frank Reid Knapp, also step grandson Skylar Lawrance of Chilliwack, BC. Four great grandsons Dawson and Carter Gieselman of Chilliwack, BC and Tyler & Matthew Thompson of Kingston, Ontario.

Frank Knapp in 1963 moved his family from Winnipeg, Manitoba and settled out west to BC. He worked for BC Hydro Railway until his retirement. Frank loved people and his family. He loved bowling, golf, dancing, trains, and his beloved dog “Freeway”. He travelled to many far places and had a great zest for life. Frank had a very special friend and companion named Muriel the last few years of his life, she will dearly miss him.

Frank Knapp will be deeply missed by his family & friends. We can see him now riding that Great Locomotive Train towards Heaven’s Gate and at his first whistle stop his beloved wife Pat and his beloved God will be there to meet him.

A memorial for Frank Knapp will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday October 23, 2005 at O.A.P.O Hall Branch 173, 5725 Tyson Road, Chilliwack, BC (Next to Twin Rinks).

The family extends a special thank-you to all the staff at Hawthorne care facility, Port Coquitlam, BC for caring for our father.

The family also wishes in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation.
