Passed away peacefully at Fraser Hope Lodge on February 23, 2007.
A long time resident of the Camp River Area of Rosedale, she had been residing in Hope for the last 3 years.
Born in Australia on July 24, 1921, the family moved to Canada when she was 8. After living in Richmond and Cloverdale Helene’s family then bought a farm on Castleman Road in Chilliwack.
In 1940 she married Cliff Laughlin and they bought a farm on Gill Road in Rosedale, where they raised their family. Spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy. She loved to travel and adored her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survived by son Wayne, daughter Diane Cleary (Ron), son Eric (Laurie), daughter Karen Christie (Wayne), grandchildren Jen, Chris and Allison Laughlin, Brendan Cleary and Daniel Christie.
She was predeceased by husband Clifford and son Gary.
The family would like to express deepest thanks to Dr. Abell and the staff of Fraser Canyon Hospital, the Fraser Hope Lodge and the Fraser Cheam Home Support for their wonderful care and support.
A memorial tea will be held on March 16, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Camp River Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Fraser Hope Lodge.
