Helen Adams passes away at Chilliwack General Hospital on December 27, 2008. Helen was born in Russell, Manitoba. She received the nickname “Honey” at an early age. She was educated in Russell, Manitoba and then moved to Trail, B.C. in 1935. She married John Harold Adams, September 23, 1939. She is survived by her three children, John Wayne (Sharon) of Kitimat, Dawn Leslie and Jane, both of Chilliwack. She also leaves behind four grandchildren (Scott, Cheryl, Shelly & Joey) and six great-grandchildren (Ashley, Corey, Blair, Sam, Riley & Noah).

She moved to Camp Chilliwack in the early 50’s and lived there until her husband’s untimely death February 2, 1963. Her parents moved to Chilliwack and lived with Helen on Airport Road. She worked at the Collegiate Coffee Shop for Cliff Thompson and then for the Chilliwack Homemakers. She retired after ten years to care for her aged parents. Helen worked as a Contact for the Bereaved and organized the New Beginnings widows’ group. She ventured on many trips and enjoyed visiting her cousins, relatives and close family. She lived with her daughter Dawn until more care was required and then moved in with her daughter Jane. She was well-known as “Honey” and “Grandma Jane.”

A memorial service will be held at the clubhouse at Beacon Downs (8533 Broadway Avenue), January 2 at 1:00pm.

“I have crossed many bridges in my life and I don’t regret any.”
