1937-2010
It is with great sorrow that the family of Helen Gowans announce her passing on June 6, 2010 at 73 years of age.
Helen was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 28, 1937. She was a very kind, open-minded and accepting gentle soul who was easily contented, took joy in simple pleasures and was family oriented. Helen was very outgoing and social and was an active member of the White Cane Club and Lions in Chilliwack, and loved to bowl twice a week. She had a good sense of humour and always enjoyed a laugh.
Helen is survived by her loving daughters, Sheila Ross (Dave) and her children Amanda Butler of Coquitlam and Andrew Butler of Toronto, Ontario; Carol Zarney (Mike McKay) of Calgary, Alberta and her children Tanya Russell (Troy) and their children, Kimberly Russell and Sara Lynn Russell of Hinton, Alberta and Allan Zarney of Calgary, Alberta; and Yvonne Paulson (Brian) and their children Ariana Paulson and Damian Paulson of Gibsons, B.C.
A celebration of Helen’s life is being held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at a private residence.
