Heather was born in Dawson Creek, B,C. and became our chosen daughter March 12, 1966.
Her childhood years in Surrey were carefree and happy. In 1978 she moved to Vernon with her family where she continued her schooling. She always loved nature, animals and adventurous outdoor activities.
After leaving home, Abbotsford became her place of residence and more recently, Chilliwack.
On April 1, 2001 she was baptized upon her confession of faith and enjoyed the fellowhship of the Grace Evangelical Bible Chapel and more recently the Greendale M.B. Church while she resided in the Chilliwack area.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her parents Ed and Anita Thiessen in Coldstream; her brother Gerald and his wife Malgous Thiessen in Winfield; a niece, Marta Thiessen in Vancouver; and her very special friend Lothar Drews in Chilliwack, plus numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by both paternal and maternal grandparents and uncle and three cousins in infancy.
A memorial service will take place Friday, Nov. 18, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mennonite Church of Vernon, 5661 Silver Star Rd. with a reception to follow. A memorial service will also be held at the Greendale MB Churck, 6550 Sumas Prairie Rd, Chilliwack, B.C. on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Heather’s memory may be made to the Gideon Bible Plan or a charity of choice.
Interment will take place in the Coldstream Cemetery.
