Born January 31, 1907 in Snowflake, Manitoba, passed away on February 11, 2007 at the age of 100.
Hattie was predeceased by Ralph Maxwell, her first husband of over 30 years; Maynard Olsen, her second husband; and her beloved son Bill Maxwell. Hattie also witnessed the passing of all her siblings, she was the third of six.
Hattie, who wqas one never to shy away from hard work, loved to dance, play cards with friends, and take Sunday drives. But most of all, Hattie was a devoted mother to her son Bill, and she openly admitted that life was not the same once Bill passed away.
Hattie is survived by her daughter-in-law Noreen, her four grandchildren: Loreen, Cindy (Dale), Sheri and Michael (Sandra); 11 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, and numerous niecies, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
The family wishes to thank the people at the Evergreen Seniors Home as they welcomed Hattie into their lives with open arms. Further, the people at the home provided Hattie with an unbelievable level of loving attentive care. Additionally, we would like to acknowledge the devotion of Hattie’s granddaughter, Loreen, and great-granddaughter, Melisa. During the last week’s of Hattie’s life, these two selfless women stayed continuously beside their grandmother’s bed, and they willingly and readily provided her with kind, gentle, loving care.
Services will be held at Henderson’s Funeral Home, Chilliwack, BC on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 at 11:00 am.
