The grandson of a Chilliwack pioneer family, Harvey James Webb, passed away peacefully at the Chilliwack General Hospital on May 28, 2007.
He was born in Sardis in 1917 and had lived in that area all of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hazel; daughter, Verna (Lorne); granddaughters, Joanna and Janet and great grandchildren, Annastasia, Jacob and Julia. He is also survived by his only sister, Reita Johnson. Harvey was predeceased by his son, Ken and brother, Gordon.
In earlier years, Harvey sat on the Chilliwack Municipal Council and worked hard for the development of a local airport.He owned a plane himself and was active in the Chilliwack Flying Club.
After retirement, Harvey enjoyed his R.V. and his garden. Memories of him are in many local gardens as he loved to share his flowers.
During his short stay on the 5th floor of the hospital, he received wonderful care and the family wishes to thank the staff for their special touches and concern.
No funeral by request. A private family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
