Harold James Karr

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold James Karr in the early morning of May 11, 2017 with his family by his side. He was 75 years old. Harold was born on November 14, 1941 in Chilliwack BC, second eldest son to Frederick and Bertha Karr (Cameron).Harold grew up in the Creston, Chilliwack, Rosedale /Popkum area. He had a great childhood. He was very close to his parents. Since dad started to work he never sat still. While working at Fraser Vale Foods one day he saw a girl working there across the room and the rest is history. On October 24, 1964 he married Anita Upshall. They went on to have 2 children

( Ron 1965 and Cindy 1969). They did everything together, never left each other’s side. Memories to last a lifetime. He is survived by the love of his life Anita for over 51 years, two children: Ron (Karen) and Cindy(Richard ) Bloem, two siblings Myrna (Derrick) and Don, a special sister-in- law Annie Mabel Smith (Upshall), a special nephew Dean Dale as well as several other relatives in B.C. and Newfoundland. Harold was a devoted family man and a true friend to those who knew him. He was a warm and caring individual, had a kind heart. Dad had a great smile and he loved to make people laugh, always telling jokes and wanted everyone to have a good time. He loved the outdoors. He was a hunter in his early years and spent many years fishing the Vedder and Fraser river. One thing Harold and Anita shared was a passion for fishing and camping every chance they got. Dad also loved animals, had a dog or a cat throughout his life. Harold was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, brother and son. He will live forever in our hearts. We will love him always. Thanks to the staff at CGH and Chilliwack Heritage Village for the care he received over the last few years. There is no service by request.
