It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guy Poirier, a cherished father, grandfather, brother and uncle on July 21, 2008, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Montreal on July 7, 1943.
Guy is predeceased by his father Conrad; his mother Jeanne LaHaie; his wife Gail, February 9, 1992; and his brother Claude (Gisele).
Guy leaves behind his daughter Francine and her husband Rod Clayton; his two grandchildren: Abbigail and Griffin; two sisters: Fern Smith (Jim Jonker) and Nicole Sam (Claude); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Guy touched many people with his generosity and wry sense of humour and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Special thanks to the Chilliwack General Hospital’s palliative care staff for helping him through the last weeks of his life.
A Memorial Service will be held by Rev. Charlie Lenz on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home Chapel, 45901 Victoria Avenue, Chilliwack.
