Grace Mary Harris passed away peacefully, at home, at the age of 85 years. She was predeceased by, and was the last surviving child of Sylvia and James Cowan (James Cowan Theatre, Burnaby). Also predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Donald Harris in 1999, and just recently by her eldest son, Douglas James Harris on November 8, 2008. Grace is survived by her children Jeff (Vicky), Ian, Rosemary (Larry), Wendy (Earle), and Gordon (Marilyn); 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and friends.
Mom passed the way she wanted, at home, in her sleep. In the 9 years that Mom spent in Chilliwack, she very much enjoyed the large family dinners and getting to be a part of the lives of her grand and great-grandchildren. She very much looked forward to her Sundays, attending services at Mt. Shannon United Church, and the days she played piano for the residents of Waverly.
