Gordon Vincent GREER

October 5, 2004

Gordon Vincent Greer, April 28, 1939 — October 5, 2004. On Tuesday, Oct. 5th, after a valiant battle with ALS, Gord stepped from this world into the Hands of God. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Gord moved to Chilliwack with his mom, dad and brother in 1953. Later, Gord joined the Army. After leaving the Army he joined Correction Canada. He married Shari in 1978 and later adopted two of her sons, making the family complete with his son.

Gord retired from Corrections when illness made it impossible for him to continue. He had started to make scrollsaw woodworking projects and became adept at his craft. Because he could sit and do this work and stop when his pain intensified, he was able to continue. Sharing his work with the world was especially dear to him. He became well known in the community for his work. He also made toys for needy children for Christmas, a task he did with joy.

Gord, being the awesome man he was; having the love and respect of many, has made his mark in this world. He will never be forgotten.

Forever loved, forever missed, forever mourned by his wife, Shari; sons, Gordon, Britt and Carter; many family members and a myriad of friends.

A Memorial Service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at the Chilliwack Fish and Game Club, 48685 Chilliwack Lake Rd.

Should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to The B.C. Toy Makers Society; B.C. ALS Society or the Chilliwack Dogwood Lions Club, addresses are available from the family.
