George (Gerben) Tabak was called home to his Father in heaven on November 7, 2007 at Chilliwack General Hospital in his 89th year. He was born February 24, 1919 in the Netherlands. George is survived by his loving wife Anna of 17 years; his children, Audrey (Allan) Hoekstra, Theresa (Louis) Kornelius, Rita (Bob) Mosey; Anna’s children, Peter (Jane) Ronda, Henry (Kathy) Ronda, Tina (Marty) Notenbomer and Connie Pauwels (Wayne Price); his grandchildren, Elaine (Jim), Judy (Steve), Linette (Andrew), Arlene (Harvey), Sharon, Dawna (Mike), Debra (Dave), Lorraine (Colin) and Gordon (Michelle); Anna’s grandchildren, Kevin (Alice), Denise, Melissa, Darren, Troy (Natasha), Allison, Richelle, Rebecca (Glenn), Jeff (Melinda), Coralie, Charmaine, Cassandra, Tara and Eric, his great grandchildren, Meagan, Sarah, Nathan, Adrianna, Sophie, Travis, Keith, Jonathon, Christopher, Melissa, Michael, Sarah, Wilton, Nataniel, Lenae, Angelica, Hannah, Joy, Daniel, Regan, Kyle, Erica, Megan; Anna’s great grandchildren, Kaila, Kiera, Alisha, Keagan, Hannah, Elise, Tianna, Caleb and Madilyn. George is also survived by his sister Attie in the Netherlands and his brother Jack in Richmond, BC. He was predeceased by his son Reinhold Dick Tabak in 1952 and his first wife Ebelina in 1988 to whom he had been married for 45 years.
George was a loving husband and father, a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather who always enjoyed life with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 from 7pm to 8:30 pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave. Chilliwack, BC. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 11:00 am at the First Christian Reformed Church, 9800 McNaught Rd. Chilliwack, BC, Pastor Carel Gelenyse officiating. Internment to follow in Port Alberni, BC on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Alberni Valley Memorial Gardens. If so desired, memorial donations to “God’s Littlest Angels” in Haiti, would be appreciated.
