George Foster PAXTON

October 21, 2003

George passed away peacefully on October 21st in the presence of his family. George was born on Nov. 4, 1915 in Lashburn, Sask. His life was dedicated to his family and his friends all of who gave purpose and activity to his life.

George was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret who passed away in 1995. Dad is survived by his very proud family; sons Howie (Connie) of Christina Lake and Jack (Janis) of Abbotsford, daughters Joan (Bill) Powell of Cranbrook and Cindy (Lyle) Bowness of Vernon. George is also remembered by his loving companion of 6 years, Verna Robinson.

Papa leaves a wonderful legacy in his grandchildren, Robert, Andy (Niki), Trent (Samantha), Stacey, Kelly (Jim), Jeanie (Cayley), Darcy, Tara, Ryan, Jordan (Tanya), and Corey. Dad was “Papa-Great” to Caroline, Michael and Jake.

George is also survived by his loving sisters, Marion Trahan, and Alma Hague, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

One of dad’s greatest prides was his involvement with Kiwanis which he joined in the early 1960’s. Donations in dad’s name will be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers, to the Golden Kiwanis, Chilliwack c/o P.O. Box 104, Chilliwack, V2P 6H7. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Ireland officating.

Dad, you faced the toughest battle with the greatest dignity and grace and gave us all the most precious gifts: love and family. You will always be with us.
