It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Matthew Fraser Cook on Friday, Mar. 14, 2003.
George is survived by his loving family, wife Hilda; daughter Sandra (Robert) Miller of Chilliwack; son Dennis (Emilienne); and two grandchildren, Bradley and Jolyne Cook of Surrey; two sisters, Mary Cook of Vancouver, and Alice (Reg) McBride of Kamloops; as well as many other relatives and good friends.
George was born in Bashaw, Alta. on February 9, 1913 and worked on the family farm until he was 22 years old. The family moved to B.C. and George went logging for the next 12 years. He met and married Hilda (nee Hinkel) in 1947 and had two children. George loved to build and to garden and did so in the Lower Mainland and Chilliwack. George had just turned 90 years old February 9, 2003.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Mar. 20, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from the chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C. would be greatly appreciated.
