Gary Douglas Hailstone


It is with sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Gary Douglas Hailstone at the age of 74 on the 3rd of June at Chilliwack General Hospital. He was born 27 February 1943 in Vancouver, BC. Gary moved to Chilliwack in the fall of 1947. The family moved to Chilliwack, for father Ernie Hailstone to run the dealership for MacCormick Deering Farm Machinery and International Harvester Trucks as Valley Equipment. Gary is survived by his wife, Debbie Hailstone; step-daughter Anna Jackson (Niklos Kalimeris); grandson Demetre and granddaughter, Ember, his daughters Britt Hailstone (Alex MacIntyre); granddaughter Kate Hailstone-MacIntyre, daughter Maida Hailstone, of Chilliwack and daughters Tara Bomhoff (Jeremy); two granddaughters, Emmaline and Jane Bomhoff, and Jessica Hailstone-Forcier (Ed Forcier); grandson Teagan Hailstone-Forcier of Victoria. Gary is also survived by his sister, Shirley (Terry) Mulder; niece Taimi Mulder (Frank Vernon), nephew Chris (Susan Toews); grandnephew Davis Mulder and by his sister Beverly Mazar (Jim); niece Barbara Borchert; grandnephew Geoffrey Borchert; niece Janet Smith (Kevin); grandnieces, Hannah, Lara and grandnephew Ian. There will be a public viewing at Henderson's Funeral Home, Thursday afternoon 3:30 p.m. and a Celebration of Gary's Life will be at Sardis Fellowship Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 9th. (45187 Wells Rd, Chilliwack).
