Friedemarie Reinhardt passed away peacefully on September 14, 2009 at Valley Haven Resthome at the age of 95 years. She was born in Danzig, Germany on June 9, 1914.
She married Daniel Reinhardt on November 9, 1934. Together they had six children. They fled their home in East Germany in 1945 and resided in West Germany until they immigrated to Canada in 1956. The family settled in Lumby and then later on in Chilliwack and were active members of the Christ Lutheran Church congregation.
Friedemarie leaves to mourn her children, Wolfgang “Lefty” (Linda), Margot (Ben), Irene (Robert), Jurgen (Darleen), Detlev (Judi) and Gernot; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was sadly predeceased by Daniel on December 2, 1962.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 7-9 pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Christ Lutheran Church, 9460 Charles St. Chilliwack; Pastor Dean Anderson officiating.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Choir.
The family would like to thank the staff at Valleyhaven for the love and care they gave to our mother. Thank you also to Dr. Hamilton, the group of singers from Christ Lutheran Church and Pastor Dean Anderson.
