Frank Tschetter went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. He passed away peacefully in the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 70 years. Frank was born in the Ukraine on Aug. 27, 1932, the son of Hans and Katherina (nee Penner) Tschetter.
In 1970 Frank decided to take up poultry farming and brought his wife and three children to Chilliwack from Winnipeg. He never really retired, but did take time to enjoy his passion for travelling. He and his wife made many memorable trips in the last few years. Frank had many other interests that he pursued such as, fishing, stamp collecting, rug hooking and serving in his church and the Mennonite community. He was also a wonderful and devoted grandfather. Frank was predeceased by his parents; brothers: Jake Braun, Isaac Braun, Hans Tschetter, Peter Braun, and Johann Braun.
He is survived by his wife Anges; daughters: Veronica (Douglas) Walter, Margo (Randy) Hoffmann; and son, Ron (Cheryl) Tschetter; five grandchildren: Jordan, Rachelle, Jeremy, Kayla and Tristran; sisters: Katie Krahn, Helen (John) Siemens, and Anges Toews; brothers: Heinrich (Greta) Tschetter, Arthur (Micah) Braun, Gerhard (Elfrieda) Braun, Paul (Helen) Tschetter, and Cornelius (Irma) Braun; sister-in-law, Maria Braun; and numerous nephews and nieces and their children. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Eden Mennonite Church.
In lieu of flowers, should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Cancer Society for Mesothelioma research or MCC.
