Francis James Kavanagh passed away in Chilliwack General Hospital on October 18, 2005 at the age of 92 years. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 27, 1912.
Frank served overseas with the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II in North Africa and Italy. He met and married Jane, his wife of 56 years, while in England. They moved to Penticton in 1949 and bought an orchard. After several years they came to Chilliwack, where Frank rejoined the Army. For more than 50 years, they lived in Cultus Lake where they raised their six children. Recently, Frank and Jane have lived with their son Kevin and daughter in law Sherry in Sardis.
Frank is survived by his wife Jane; his six children, Bruce, Sharron (Colin), Kerry (Debbie), Barbara (Fred), Barry (Anne) and Kevin (Sherry); twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2005 , at 10:30 am at the Oddfellows Cemetery at Little Mountain, 10010 Hillcrest Dr. Chilliwack. An informal gathering will follow at 46385 Christina Drive.
