Mrs. Florence Ellen Hagen, the eldest daughter of Roseldah and Ernest Harnesk, died at the age of 86 on August 20, 2004, while a resident at the Cottage Pavilion Extended Care Unit of the MSA General Hospital in Abbotsford. She was born in Youngstown, Alta. on November 20, 1917. She married Sigfred Hagen at Viking, Alta. on February 26, 1937. She and her husband had two children, Donna and Herman.
Florence is survived by her son, Rev. Herman (Carol) Hagen of Abbotsford; six grandchildren, Raymond (Kerry) Delaire, Barbara Delaire, Brian Delaire, (Carol), Louise Fraser, and Steven and Marcia Hagen. Also by six great-grandchildren, Michael, Jodi, Alexandra, Justin, Amber and Courtney; and two great-great grandchildren, Brayden and Kaitlin. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Helga Rehill and Irene Best of Edmonton, Alta., and Helen Harnesk of Ardrossan, Alta.; as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her daughter Donna May Delaire; and husband Sigfred.
Henderson’s Funeral Home of Chilliwack is handling the funeral arrangements.
The Memorial Service and Celebration of Mrs. Hagen’s life will take place at 2 p.m. on August 26, 2004 at Christ Lutheran Church, 9460 Charles St., Chilliwack with Rev. Pamela Hegedus-Pederson officiating. Refreshments will be served by the ladies of Christ Lutheran Church.
Pallbearers are: Raymond Delaire, Brian Delaire, Michael Delaire, Gerald Dahle, John Rostad and Bryan Stolee.
