Fern Bessie Boychuk

Fern Bessie Boychuck passed away in Reno, Nevada on August 18, 2005.

Fern was the youngest of three girls born to Peter and Nettie Boychuk in Rabbitslake, Saskatchewan on the 27th of July 1935.

Fern moved with her family to Chilliwack, B.C. in 1939 where she attended school. In 1965 she moved to Seattle, Washington, finally making her home in Reno Nevada.

Fern was predeceased by her parents Peter and Nettie Boychuck, a great-niece Sarah Dyck and a close friend Pete Sanchez.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Howe of North Vancouver and Ann (Phil) Dyck of Chilliwack, B.C. Nephews Brian (Kathleen) Howe of Dallas, Texas USA, and Barry (Rhonda) Dyck of Inuvik NWT. Nieces Sheila Howe of New Westminster, B.C. and Cindy (Brad) Johnson of Chilliwack, B.C. Great-nieces Cori Johnson of Chilliwack, B.C. and Kathreen Dyck of Inuvik NWT. Great-nephews Matthew Dyck of Inuvik, NWT and Brett Johnson of Chilliwack, B.C.

Fern will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends she made in Reno, Nevada.

Graveside services were held Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 5:00 pm for the immediate family. Rev. Michael Hare Officiated.

“Fern, you were my sister, but more than that, you were my friend. We laughed together in happy times, cried when things were really bad, but now I am left to cry alone. Till we meet again, rest in peace.”
