Ethel Poole peacefully went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on November 29, 2008 at Valley Haven Guest Home, in Chilliwack, BC.

Ethel was born in Eastborne England on July 30, 1922, the first child of Charles and Madeline Henty.

She immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of four, and settled in Sintaluta, Sask. There she met and married her loving husband of 55 years, Bill.

Bill and Ethel, with their eldest daughter, moved to the Fraser Valley in 1947, where they would raise their family. Ethel worked and made many friends at Fraser Vale, before retiring. Ethel and Bill were long time members of St. John’s Anglican Church.

Ethel is survived by her four children: Joan (Peter) Wargenau, James, Norman (Vickey), and Joyce (Bruce) Wiebe; siblings: Ruby Francais, Cora Coueslan, and Fred Henty. seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ethel is predeceased by her husband Bill, parents, sister Emily, and grandchildren Barbara, Brenton, and Billy.

She will be fondly remembered by her family for her positive attitude, loving personality, and soft, caring nature.

To Celebrate Her Life there will be a Memorial Service at St. John’s Anglican Church, 46098 Higginson Rd, Sardis BC on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Valley Haven for the compassionate care of our Mother. Memorial donations in honour of Ethel’s life may be made to the St. John’s Anglican Church Memorial fund.
