Eric Ludlam of Chilliwack passed away peacefully on May 24, 2009 at Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 86 with his daughter by his side.

He was born in Bradford, Yorkshire, England on Sept. 12, 1922. He immigrated to Canada in 1950.

He was predeceased by his parents and sibling. Also by his son Paul in 1957 and his wife Kathleen in 2007.

He is survived and will be sadly missed by his daughter Jeanette (Carle) LaFleur; grandsons: Jean Paul (Adrienne) LaFleur, Mich (Brandi Plenderleith) LaFleur; great-grand-daughters: Annika LaFleur and Aila LaFleur.

He was an employee at CFB Chilliwack until his retirement. He was a very active person who enjoyed cycling, table tennis, bowling or just walking. He had many interests including photography, music and bird watching. He also enjoyed watching soccer with his friend Allan.

The family would like to say thanks to Dr. Kroeze and his staff for their kindness and excellent care. Also to the Birchwood staff for being so kind and compassionate andto all those who cared for Eric during his quick decline. A very special thank you to Allan Nelson, a friend like no other!

By Eric’s request there will not be a service. Henderson’s Funeral Home in charge of cremation. A Memorial Tea will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 2-4 pm at 8706 Pearson St., Chilliwack.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
