Emily Jean (nee Lavigne) CADRIN

Jean Cadrin passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Nov. 8, 2006 at the age of 72. She was born on Sept. 21, 1934 in Edam, Saskatchewan.

Emily grew up on a farm at Jackfish, Saskatchewan until just before her father’s death, when the family moved to North Battleford.

Emily got a job, at the age of 15, at the Notre Dame Hospital to help support the family.

In October of 1953 she married Donatien Cadrin and moved to Meota, Saskatchewan where they farmed for 21 years.

In 1974 the family moved to Chilliwack, BC. Emily later moved to Langley, then to Mission and finally back to Chilliwack. During this time she spent many years sewing drapery, gardening, floral designing, teaching oil painting and cooking for large family occassions. Her willingness to take on any task, to follow any dream, to go to the ends of the earth for her family and friends made her a cherished Mom, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend.

Emily was predeceased by both her parents, Henry and Selena Lavigne.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers: Marie (Lionel), Evelyn (Henri), Viv (Jim), Millie, Gerry (Kay) and Norman (Geraldine). Left to mourn her is Don Cadrin, her seven children and grandchildren: Doug (Kit) Aaron and Amy, Dan, Chad, Kristopher and Jordan, Lois (Don), Eugene (Joanne), Elaine (John) Brandon and Breanna, Lawrence (Gai) and Emily rose and Jackie (Kevin). She will also be missed by those friends whom remained at her side till the very end.

A memorial service will be held for Emily Cadrin on Sun., Nov. 19, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Tzeachten Hall at 45855 Promontory Rd. Chilliwack, BC.
