Elvira Susie Helie, late of Cultus Lake, B.C., formerly of Mayne Island, B.C. passed away March 16, 2007 in the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 67. She was born May 24, 1939 in Greendale, B.C.
For many years Vera was the post polio area group contact person for the Chilliwack area. This post kept her active; but not without its rewards. Vera also enjoyed football, both American and Canadian; but what she enjoyed most was her grandchildren, she just adored them all.
A private family Memorial Service will be held.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; daughters, Kathi (Ben) Sharpe of Baines Lake; Darcie (Dan) O’Donnell of Saltspring Island; Lisette Robinson of Victoria; brothers, Cork (Helen) Wiens of Chilliwack; Garry (Rose) Wiens of Yarrow; Don (Linda) Wiens of Chilliwack; grandchildren, Cody, David, Ryan, Brittanie, Abigail, Molly, Claire, Josephine, Jessica, Arielle and Lin. Also survived by nieces and nephews: Diane (Richard); Bev (Steve); Karry (Mike); Jeff (Tobie); Leah (Dwayne); Kelsey (Justin) and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jake and Susie Wiens of Chilliwack. B.C.
