Elvienna Hilda Hunter passed away on Monday, Sept. 9, 2002 at Chilliwack General Hospital, at the age of 74 years. She was born September 19, 1927 in Comox.
Elvie is survived by her sisters, Helen, Cecilia, Vada, and Grace (Albert); brothers, Howard (Stella), and Hunter (Melisse); also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry Davies; her infant son Roger Davies; her parents, George and Nora Babcock; two sisters, Agnes Bell and Hazel Nairne; and three brothers, Arthur, Kenneth, and Georgie Babcock.
Elvie was a member of the Baptist Church in Hope and was baptized there. She had many fond memories of the years she spent ranching. Elvie also enjoyed dog sledding, and loved the dogs she bred and raced.
A Memorial Tea will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002 at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack.
Donations in Elvie’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and Yukon, or the SPCA.
