Elsie ZULKE (nee Posien)

Elsie Zulke (Nee Posien) was born in Millet, Alta. on August 25, 1916 to Daniel and Lydia Posien. She was the second youngest in a family of three sisters and one brother.

At age 16 Elsie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized upon confession of her faith by Rev. Daum. She joined the First Baptist Church of Leduc where she was a member for many years and was involved in various church organizations.

In 1939 she was united in marriage to Walter Zulke where they farmed in the Leduc area. To this union two sons were born, Doug and Neil. In 1964 the family moved to Vancouver where they joined Ebenezer Baptist Church. Elsie and Walter moved to Chilliwack in 1982. During this time Elsie was a member of the Chilliwack Baptist Church where she remained a member until the Lord called her home on May 26, 2005.

Mourning her passing are Doug and his wife, Laurel, of Surrey, B.C.; Neil and his wife, Jean, of Leduc, Alta.; Judy of Ladner, B.C.; seven grandchildren: Ryan, David, Christopher, Steven, Danielle, Darren and Brian; great-grandchildren; one brother, Emil, of Edmonton, Alta.; nephews, nieces and a host of relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter, in 1985; two sisters, Dena and Hilda.

Private interment in Chilliwack Cemeteries. Service of Remembrance to be held in the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Pastors Matt Dressler and Lloyd Andersen officiating.
