(nee Carlson)

(June 17, 1910 - April 7, 2009)

Our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend made her transition from this life in her 99th year. Born in Greenwood, raised in Vancouver, she attended Pitman’s Business College holding positions with Brand’s Florist in Vancouver and Eddy’s Nursery in Sardis.

In 1937 she married Jonas Luyat, owner/operator of Canal Garage in Sumas Prairie. They moved to Agassiz in 1950.

Predeceased by husband Jonas in 1989, and brother Ernie of Powell River, she is survived by daughters: Joyce Crawford (Dan) of Surrey, and Karen Craig (Ian) of Abbotsford; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and, an extended family who loved her dearly.

A devoted mother and the family matriarch, we are left with a hole in our hearts but a legacy of strength and courage.

A celebration of life is held on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM, Agassiz United Church, 6860 Lougheed Hwy, Agassiz.

Since our mother loved flowers, we are asking attendees to bring a flower to add to a communal bouquet at the church. Alternatively, donations may be made to CNIB, Library Services, BC Division, #100 - 5055 Joyce St., Vancouver, V5R 6B2.
