Elsie LUECK

Elsie Lueck (nee Muhlbeier) passed away into the presence of her Lord, surrounded by her family, on May 25, 2004 at the age of 81.

She was born on April 28, 1923 in Golden Prairie, Sask. In 1944, she married Hugh Lueck of Lockwood, Sask. and they moved to Toronto where Hugh was stationed in the army.

After the war was over, they moved to Chilliwack in 1946 where they had their two children, Carol and Lorne.

Elsie deeply loved her family and worked hard as a homemaker. She especially enjoyed cooking and baking. She had a true gift for hospitality and was happiest when family and friends gathered around her table. She served many years in the Chilliwack Alliance Church teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.

She is survived by her husband Hugh, daughter Carol (Henry) Zablocki, son Lorne (Linda) Lueck, and grandchildren Justin, Michael, Todd, Brandon, Chad (Christina), Leah and Landon. She is also survived by her sisters Martha (Albert) Unrath and Lynn (Elmer) Berkan and her brothers Art (Inez) Muhlbeier and Bill (Esther) Muhlbeier.

She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth, and four brothers, Henry, Ed, Raymond and Alvin.

Viewing will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Sunday, May 30 from 7:30-9 p.m. Interment will take place at Chilliwack Cemeteries (Little Mountain) on Monday, May 31, at 11 a.m. and a memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Glad Tidings Fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Glad Tidings Fellowship Missions Program.
