Elizabeth Burnaby CHURCH

Elisabeth Burnaby (Burney) Church passed away on March 30, 2007 at Waverly Care Home in her 96th year. Born October 3, 1911 in Burnaby, B.C.

Survived by daugher Shirley (Tony) Simundson, granddaughters Karolyn (Mike) McChesney, Diane (Jim) Hipwell and seven great-grandchildren; son, Robert (Bob) Colliss in California, grandchildren Debbie (Gary) Holtzinger, Dan (Linda) Collis, Terri (Phil) Bellonti, Steve (Linda) Collis, Joe (Lisa) Colliss, and Megan Colliss, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husbands Stanley Colliss, Arnold Bustin and Cameron Church, also son Fred Bustin, Burney moved to Chilliwack in 1932 and lived in Rosedale until 1968 when she moved to Chillliwack. She was a lifetime member of St. Peters Anglican Church in Rosedale.

She left a legacy of knitting, crocheting and sewing for family and friends. In the past 10 years she made many items of knitted clothing and baby afghans for an orphanage in Romania.

Thanks to Dr. Campbell who took care of Burney for many years. A special thanks to all the staff at Waverly Care Home who also took very good care of her.
