Betty passed away peacefully January 7, 2008 at Chilliwack General Hospital with her husband and children at her side. Her family was truly not ready for this sad moment, but Betty’s transition from this life was with her usual grace and dignity.
Left to remember and miss her are her husband of 53 years, Tony; her children:Ron (Bonnie) Gwen (Murray), JoAnna (Rick) and John (Teresa); her grandchildren: Alene, Jeff, Stephanie, Jen, Matt, Shawn, Kim, Kate, Brent, Kalika, Christopher and Braydan, 5 great grandchildren, brother, Lester (Lillian) McKenna of Dartmouth, N.S. and sister, Doris Williams of Lockeport, N.S. She is predeceased by her parents and two brothers.
Betty was born in Milton, N.S., June 24, 1932. She met and married Tony in Hamilton, Ontario and became an Air Force wife. During many moves with the Air Force, Betty stayed to raise her four children and always made birthdays and Christmas magical moments to cherish.
Betty spoke of their posting in Zwiebrucken, Germany many times over the years. Betty loved to keep in touch with family and friends and at the age of 74 discovered the internet which opened many doors and allowed her to keep in touch with family near and far.
No service by request but a gathering of family and friends to “celebrate her life” will take place on Sunday, January 20, 2008 between 1-4 p.m. at the Rhombus Hotel in Chilliwack, B.C.
