Eileen Katherine MacDonald, was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, and passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024, at CGH. She was 84 years old.
Eileen made her home in Chilliwack alongside her devoted husband for over six decades.
She is survived by her loving husband Walter, her cherished sister Caroline, her daughter Kathy (Barey), and her son Rod (Sandy).
Eileen also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Michael (Tanya), Chris (Chelsea), Jason (Rosalba), Kris (Angela), Trevor (Brittany), Jeremy (Julie), Mikayla, Mitchell, along with 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of other beloved family members and friends.
Preceded in death by her son Jamie in 2015, Eileen will be remembered as a loving, caring, and hardworking individual who dedicated herself to serving her community. She was an active volunteer and touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.
In her earlier years, Eileen enjoyed walking with her faithful companions, Charlie and Mitzie. She and Walter were especially fond of the time they spent together on the road in their motorhome.
A celebration of Eileen's life will be held on June 22nd at the Chilliwack Mt. Cheam Lions Club Hall, located at 45580 Spadina Ave, at 1:00 pm.
