Edward Deitrich Heppner

August 25, 1933 - March 21, 2017


Edward Heppner passed at the age of 83 on March 21st, 2017. Ed was born in the small town of Birtle, MB on August 25th, 1933 to Anna (Wiens) and Deitrich Heppner. He and his six siblings moved to Chilliwack when he was young. He went to Atchelizt Elementary and Chilliwack High. He met the love of his life, Viola Berg, and they married in 1953 and settled in Sardis. He worked as a feller in the woods, drove a milk truck and fuel delivery truck to support his young family. He started his own fuel delivery business in Chilliwack and then moved to Maple Ridge where his opportunities were greater, and his trucking business grew. He then moved to Belcarra, BC. He built his dream house on the shores of Bedwell Bay where he retired. His passions throughout his active life were trap shooting, duck and goose hunting, boating, salmon and trout fishing. Most of all he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who provided his family with a wonderful life. He was predeceased by his beloved son Grant, brothers Hap and Dick, sister Anne, and nephew Bruce. He is survived by wife Viola, daughter Kathy & son Jordan. Also their spouses Jerrod & Patricia, grandchildren Jessica, Dylan, their mom Karen, Kaden & Kory, along with brother Ernie, sisters Mary and Frieda. Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 27th at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home.
