Edna THRONESS

Edna Throness completed her battle with cancer and arrived in Heaven on October 11, 2007. Her lifelong journey with the Lord has moved to an eternal level. Edna was born on March 21, 1928 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and grew up on the Pleasant Valley farm near Clairmont.

She was married to Harald Throness on June 27, 1952 and soon after they embarked on a distinguished life of ministry with service in Tofino B.C., Milden, Saskatchewan, Fort St. John BC, Sherwood Park Alberta, Chilliwack BC, Vancouver BC, Penticton BC, and numerous pastoral roles even after retirement. They have been dedicated to the Lord’s work!

Edna leaves five children and their families; Leon (Carol) and their children Holly, Christopher and Heather of Kelowna; Laurie Throness of Ottawa; Lyndon (Heather) and their children Aaron, Devon, and Hudson of Surrey, Trevor (Jennifer) and their children Julia, Samuel, Ella, and William of Abbotsford, Kathy (Rob) and their children Amanda, Luke, and Lauren of Kelowna. She also leaves a tight knit family: Sister Martha (Robert) Reid of Grande Prairie Alberta, Brother Robert (Shirley) Peters of Clairmont Alberta, Sister Esther (Gordon) Balisky of Seattle Washington, and Margaret (John) Strydhorst of Grande Prairie Alberta, Evelyn (Lester) Sather of Edmonton, sister-in-law Hazel Peters and brother-in-law Ron Marr of Niagara Falls, New York, predeceased by sister Ruth Marr and brother Harold Peters.

The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to Dr.Gordon Enns as well as all the staff at Chilliwack General Hospital for their outstanding care.

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 15th 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Chapel. A faith-filled service will be held on Tuesday the 16th of October at 1:00 p.m. at the Chilliwack Alliance Church – 8700 Young Street. We would love you to join us in honouring her memory. Memorial gifts can go to the work of Marie Enns among orphans in Cambodia.
