It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Edna Siemens.
Surrounded by her family, Edna left us at the age of 73.
Survived by her children Terry (Sherry) Siemens, Audrey (Bruno) Hoy, Pat (Jamie) Scott, Cindy (Mike) Gillanders and Lenise (Dale) Karr. Grandchildren Maury, Elizabeth, Heather, Ryan, Justin, Kristan, Jenna and Carson. Sisters, Florence, Carolyn, Dorothy, Eleanor and Phyllis; brothers, Elmer and Al. Many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her father Abraham Warkentin; mother, Maria Warkentin and husband Len Siemens.
Edna will always be remembered for her love of family, sense of humor, her generosity and caring which extended well beyond her family. Edna’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother.
Edna was born and spent her early years in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan. Later moving with the family to the Fraser Valley in B.C. She married Len and spent a number of years in different B.C. communities including memorable years in Masset (Queen Charlotte Islands), Prince George and Prince Rupert before relocating to Chilliwack in 1974.
After retiring, Edna enjoyed traveling throughout B.C., Alberta, Europe and Australia. She also attended classes and worked as a volunteer at the Elder College in Chilliwack. Edna, our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend will be greatly missed.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, December 28th from 7-9 pm at McLean’s Funeral Services, 45561 Lark Rd., Chilliwack, B.C.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 pm, December 29th at Evergreen Hall, 9291 Corbould Street, Chilliwack, B.C.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Chilliwack General Hospital for their care of our mother.
