Edna Marion BAUMAN

December 18, 2002

Edna Marion Bauman (nee Graham), late of Chilliwack, BC, passed away Dec. 18, 2002 in Chilliwack at age 94. She was born Nov. 4, 1908 in Westmeath, ON.

She had lived in this area since 1986 and had been a happy resident of the Birchwood for the past 10 years. A private family graveside service will be held Saturday, Dec. 21 at Oddfellows Cemetery, Rev. D. Ireland officiating.

Edna was brought up on a farm in the Ottawa Valley and later graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing. She married Bert Bauman, a civil engineer, in 1931 and they then lived in Jonquiere (Arvida), Que., for 47 years. Edna was the epitome of a lady — devoted spouse, a loving mother, active in her church and a steadfast friend.

After some years of retirement in Belleville, ON, Edna and Bert moved to Chilliwack to be close to their daughter. Sixteen rich years of family fellowship followed. “Nana” was indeed the proud matriarch of her extended family and will be deeply missed by all.

Survived by her only daughter Brenda and son-in-law Herman of Sardis; grandchildren Carolyn (Scott) Carlisle of White Rock, Andrea (Daniel) Henderson of Mission, Eric (Enid) Kovits of White Rock; great-grandchildren Jennifer and Caitlyn Carlisle, Meghan and Sean Henderson, Fraser and Trevor Kovits, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bert, in 1991. Edna was the last survivor of seven Graham children.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
