Edna was born in Halifax on February 23, 1928 to Alex and Etta McDonald. She attended the Convent and was taught by the Sisters. She did various odd jobs until she found a position at the Metropolitan Store, which was great. A few years later, she met the love of her life, Bill Munro, a marriage and love affair that lasted 62 years, until the passing of Bill in 2009.
Edna passed away peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital on February 14, 2012 at the age of 83 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Scott) Watters, of Red Deer, AB; son William Munro (Sandy) of Chilliwack; daughter, Donna (Sonny), of Barriere, BC; twins, Bruce Munro and Brenda (Charlie) Chamberlain of Ont; son, Doug (Sue) of Connecticut, USA; son, Ken Munro of Chilliwack and son and caregiver, Jim Munro of Chilliwack. 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She also will be lovingly remembered by her sister in law, Jean King of Dartmouth, N.S, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home 45901 Victoria Ave. Evening Prayers will follow at 6:00 pm at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February, 24, 2012 at 11:00 am also at St. Mary’s.
If any so desire, memorial donations may be directed to the Salvation Army in memory of Edna.
