(Feb. 24, 1918 – July 1, 2008)

Passed away peacefully in Chilliwack sur­rounded by the love of her family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Doug (April 20, 2004) with whom she had been married for almost 63 years and brothers, Fred and Russell.

Lovingly survived by son, Jim (Esther); daughters, Karen Hopkinson (Ken) and Ellen Kilpatrick (Mike); eight grandchildren: Andrew, Ken, Bill and Colleen Watts, Kevin, Tara and Dana Hopkinson, Jeff and Colin Kilpatrick; four great-grandchildren: Presley, Taiya, Taisha and Karissa Watts; and many other relatives and friends.

Born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, Mom moved to Vancouver in 1941 where she and Dad were married. They raised their family on Gladstone Street (south Vancouver) and retired to Lindell beach in 1975 where they enjoyed 29 wonderful retirement years.

Mom was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always had a smile, a hug, an apple pie in the oven, an open door and an extra place at the table. Her kindness and generosity, her love for her family and friends was unsurpassed. Mom always made everyone feel special and welcome.

A celebration of mom’s long and wonderful life will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Chilliwack United Church, 45835 Spadina Avenue, Chilliwack, BC. Reception to follow.
