Edith Isabel Maxine Toop passed away on Friday, July 23rd 2010 at Cascade Lodge, Chilliwack, BC at age 99 years. She was born March 17th, 1911 in Chilliwack, BC.
Edie is survived by her children, Donna (Ken) Pedde of Fort St. John, BC, Pat (Richard) Gill of Chilliwack, BC, Louise (Wally) Mitchell of Chilliwack, BC, Vic (Karen) Toop of Chilliwack, BC, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren & 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her Husband Ellwood, her siblings Don, Jean, Pat, Hilda and Gordie, and 3 grandchildren, Don, Bob & Kathy Pedde.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 29th at 1:00 p.m. from Henderson’s Funeral Home. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 28th, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Burial will take place Thursday, July 29th at Chilliwack Cemeteries (IOOF) following the service. Pallbearers: Karen Blanchette, Lynn Pedde, Vic Gill, David Gill, Wally Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Michelle Godfrey, Jim Toop.

Edie, daughter of Wesley and Connie McGillivray, grew up in the Atchelitz area, and married Ellwood Toop in 1933. They spent their lives on the Dairy farm on Yale Rd. W., and quietly raised their four children there. Edie enjoyed quilting, her rose garden, writing poems, but most of all her family and friends. She and Ellwood enjoyed travelling in later years. She had a special trip to Hawaii for her 89th Birthday with Vic and Karen. She passed away peacefully in Cascade Lodge with family around her. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
