Earl Arthur HENDERSON

Earl Henderson late of Cultus Lake, B.C. passed away in Chilliwack on February 21, 2005 aged 85 years.

Earl has been a life time resident of the Chilliwack area. He enjoyed many years at Cultus Lake with his family and friends.

Before the war he played trombone and percussion at the Cultus Lake Pavilion in an orchestra called “The Knights of Harmony”. During World War II he served in Kiska and, later went overseas for a short time. In 1945 Earl married Margery John and worked for the Unemployment Insurance Commission for 32 years.

Music was a very large part of his life. He enjoyed many of the Big Band sounds and among his favorites were the Boston Pops and James Last Orchestra. In his retirement he spent 22 years living in Rosedale and his final 8 years at Cultus Lake. He was a proud member of the Oddfellows Lodge.

Earl is survived by his wife Margery; Sons John (Linda) Henderson of Burnaby, Rob (Yvonne) Henderson of Cultus Lake. His grandchildren, Russell, Justine and Lauren, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his Brother Lyle.

Celebration of Earl’s Life will be held on Saturday Feb. 26, 2005 at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home, 4590l Victoria Ave., Chilliwack, B.C. at 10:30AM, with Rev. Weldon Holland officiating. Cremation.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Cultus Lake Community Association for Park Beautification, or Charity of Choice.
